Nib

The Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition is dedicated to one of the most renowned crime novelists and creator of the famous consulting detective Sherlock Holmes. Made from blue-gray precious resin, the edition evokes the sinister, foggy atmosphere of London, where Sherlock Holmes usually solves his cases. The cap and barrel of this edition are decorated with a plaid pattern in reference to Holmes' coat, as well as parts of a historic London city map. The initials JB are found beneath the PVD-coated, magnifying glass-shaped clip in tribute to Joseph Bell: the very real man behind the Sherlock Holmes character. The Montblanc emblem in precious resin crowns the cap of the edition. The handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib is engraved depicting flying dinosaurs from The Lost World around the portrait of the father of Professor Challenger and Sherlock Holmes.

This collection is available in a Ballpoint PenRollerball Pen, and Fountain Pen.

Worth the purchase. Beyond happy with this pen.

This fountain pen I purchased in medium nib is flawless. It does not post, but that’s not an issue for me. Montblanc hit it out of the park with the writers edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. My career was as a law enforcement officer, so I love Doyle. This pen is perfection. The medium nib is so buttery smooth, flows well and holds a ton of ink if you choose. I’ve had strangers ask me where I got this beautiful pen. This pen, my 146 and my Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age are my top 3. You won’t regret this purchase. The book and box it comes with are stunning as well.

Love it.

The ruthenium trim/nib surprised me. After reading the “book” about the pen I now understand the symbolism. I believe it represents the shadows of London and the blue represents the fog. I think MB made some good decisions about the symbolism. I usually choose broad nibs but the medium on this pen is lovely, smooth with just the right ink flow. The pen makes a good daily writer.
