The TWSBI ECO fountain pen boasts an incredible value with its piston filling system and affordable price. Like many other TWSBI fountain pens, it features a crystal clear acrylic barrel so you can see your ink level, and a clear cap. The pen cap has an inner cap to ensure a perfect seal when stored away. It is completed with silver trim and a silver stainless steel nib.
TWSBI's belief is that it is important to allow the user to disassemble and reassemble the pen and completely experience the traditional aspects of owning and using a fountain pen. These pens also come packaged with a wrench and silicone grease. Neither of these accessories are intended to be used immediately, as they are for long-term care and maintenance. Additionally, please use extra care if you choose to disassemble the nib and feed, as the feed is very fragile.
I love the clear demonstrator style, and the filling mechanism is great. It's not the greatest writer, though. I got a $2 WingSung off of ebay that writes much better. I've tried Waterman Intense Black and Noodler's Black, both dispense pretty roughly and sparsely with this pen (light lines and skips). I've cleaned the pen thoroughly a couple of times.
My third Twsbi ECO. It writes well and is good looking. Paired it with a shimmering ink. No clogging.
This is my second broad nib pen and I like it better than the Kaweco sport broad nib.
Thank you for the good service and the fast shipping too.
Pleasure to write and draw with. Ink flows like butter. With the broad nib I could achieve 4 different line weights. Great for my architectural and design sketches . Convenient built in piston that is easy to recharge and mess free. Nice built, and economic . I don’t have to worry about leaving behind a very expensive pen after my meetings.
I prefer fine or extra fine nibs, but decided to try something new with this stub nib TWSBI Eco. I’m loving it! The Eco is a great price and so easy to use. I love that it holds so much ink, reducing refills. This is my second Eco and I’m struggling to decide if I like them better than my favorite Lamy Safari pens. Thank you for encouraging me to try this nib.
Seriously, save yourself a huge headache and just don't start down this path. The Eco pens are cheaply made and poorly finished. The first one I ordered actually looked great and wrote smoothly. It seemed to be a very nice pen, except for the ugly little hairline crack in the barrel that let ink slowly leak all over my hand. Apparently, this is a well known and long-term problem of TWSBI pens that has yet to be addressed. Naively, I gave them another chance and bought a second pen, but this one felt like the nib had been finished by dragging it down a gravel road. It scratched every piece of paper I tried it on. Honestly, there are just so many better quality options at this price point, Pilot, Lamy, Sailor, and others, that I can't think of a single good reason to try TWSBI a third time.
