This brilliant fountain pen is crafted in the Togidashi Maki-e (or "burnished" Maki-e) technique of Japanese Lacquer Art. The unusual Black matte surface is created by several applications of pure Black Urushi lacquer made in Japan. Blue-Green bits of Abalone shell of three different sizes are decorated across the body of this fine writing instrument to create the magic and stillness of a space among the stars.
