Features Pineider's flexible nib, a quill-shaped clip, and a soft touch magnetic lock cap system. It has a solid black cap and a clear barrel so you can see the mystery filler in action. The filling mechanism is unique - push the button to extract the piston knob, turn the piston knob like any other piston filler to fill the pen with ink, then push the button again to lock it in place. This fountain pen has a smooth, soft 14kt rose gold nib, which is flexible for ease of creating line width variation in your writing. Each pen also comes a Pineider Pen Filler for ease of filling. The Pineider Mystery Filler is limited to 888 pieces worldwide.
Following the world trend for flexible nibs, this brand new quill nib is described by Pineider as hyperflex with an excellent memory. The project was made to create a nib for daily writing and not for calligraphy whose performance are quite different. The purpose of the new nib is clear: just writing pleasure for everybody, also for beginners. Remember that the nib is the extension of the hand and does not need any pressure to write.
This pen is a beauty and a wonder—everything about it just shows the genius of its design. I love playing with the "mystery filler" mechanism. Pushing the button to lock and unlock the piston just feels so satisfying! Oh, and the nib truly is a pleasure to write with—it writes and bounces so smoothly, like perfectly softened, spreadable butter on toast! Everything about the way it writes and the packaging makes this pen feel like an instrument that was made with thought and care. Although it is a little heavy on the hand when posting the cap, I love that the pen was designed so that the magnetic cap can be securely posted without disturbing the piston mechanism.

This nib is something special. It’s smooth and wet. I don’t really flex my nibs for line variation so I can’t speak to that, but the quill nib is great for regular writing. It’s really bouncy and comfortable like the shocks on a Cadillac. The pen’s appearance is also beautiful and cool. I love it.

This pen is lovely. The “mystery” filler is quite fun to play with, even though it is really a piston filer. It looks super cool. It is a very large pen, but the balance is perfect so that’s not a problem even for my arthritic hands.
