Writing is like taking the imprints of the soul, and even the smallest imprints leave a mark on this world.
The Maiora Mediterranean is a numbered Truphae limited edition fountain pen that immediately catches the eye through a harmonious combination of color that invites the user to celebrate the beautiful life that the Mediterranean coastline provides. From friendship and festivity with locals to the joy of art appreciation found throughout this iconic destination. The Mediterranean embodies light palate, reminiscent of the colors found throughout the coast, under the Mediterranean sun and reflected on the hillsides. Mediterranean's design and the emotion it evokes serves as inspiration for Maiora's artisans as they create each piece by hand, using old skills passed down through the generations.
The body is made from special resin turned by hand from solid bars, and it features a #6 JoWo nib with the Maiora logo.
The fountain pen has a cartridge/converter filling system.
This pen came in my subscription box and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Beautiful oversized pen, very nicely turned. Everything machined on this pen lines up nicely and the cartridge converter into the blind cap is elegant. This is a medium weight pen that feels lovely in the hand. Balances a little cap heavy when posted but not to the point it is unpleasant if you prefer to post your pens. Handmade in Italy is a win in my opinion, I love Jowo #6 nibs as I can easily swap them between pens and I have some in gold and some in steel to give different writing experiences. I have Montegrappa, Visconti, and Aurora pens that I really enjoy and this easily fits into that niche of Italian quality and luxury. Maiora was not a brand on my radar until now. Well done.
This pen is absolutely beautiful! Came in my monthly box. Chris and his crew never, ever disappoint. I was a little shocked that it was a stub nib as I do prefer a medium. So, I decided to try it, and I like it!
This pen is larger that just about all other pens that I own, but feels extremely comfortable with the shaped front piece. The material is wonderful to look at, especially under sunlight. The nib (M nib in my case) has been very smooth and writes pretty wet. I typically only go with broad or larger nibs for piston fillers, but I feel a broad would go very nicely with this pen.
I received this pen as part of an Inkredible subscription box, and was thrilled with it from the start. It is a beautiful pen and feels great in my hand. I love the weight and balance. The real plus is that it writes as beautifully as it looks. I have a fine nib and it provides a very smooth writing experience on the page.
Truphae has done it again! The colors in this pen just pop. I always loved Delta fountain and like many in the FP community, I lamented the end of Delta. The Maiora Pen Company makes all of their pens by hand in Naples, Italy and is managed by the former co-founder and president of the Delta Pen Company. The crafstmanship and styling reminds me of the Delta line. The nib has little feedback and lays down a nice wet line. The pen is well balanced either posted or not posted. I prefer non-posted writing. The pen feels great in my hand and I do not tire writing with it. I inked with the Pilot Iroshizuku Syo-ro ink and was very impressed with the combination both visually and in performance. The pictures do not give justice to the visual appeal. It has to be seen to get the full impact.
