Tuscan Sun is a Truphae Exclusive, limited and numbered edition of just 288 pieces.
Etched with a herringbone chasing pattern, the Conklin Herringbone Series fountain pen adds vintage appeal. Reminiscent of older pens created by Conklin, the herringbone pattern is achieved by using a very precise computerized engraving machine to cut the Guilloché on airplane-grade aluminum barrel and cap. A relief of the "Conklin Est. 1898" logo is atop the coin on the cap. The Herringbone series is engraved on the back of the crown. The clip is engraved with the Conlkin logo. Surrounded by four Conklin crescent shapes, the center ring is engraved with the Conklin "C".
The Conklin Herringbone Series fountain pen is available with a flexible stainless steel nib and a cartridge converter fill system.

I've found myself collecting a lot of Conklin fountain pens because they're often beautiful, unique, numbered and affordable pens that write quite nicely with a smooth ink flow.
This herringbone Tuscan Sun yellow is no exception.
Yellow is my favorite color but very few yellow fountain pens seem to exist and nearly everyone of those that do lack appeal, personality, and panache.
Flat, solid color resin pens of various degrees of translucency are mundane; practical at best.
This pen immediately caught my eye, but I wasn't sure if I'd like it since patterns can be hit or miss in-person.
I noticed the Conklin pen case was flawed as I removed it from its sleeve, however the pen simply radiantly gleamed when I opened the case.
The pen was far more impressive in-person and even more so when I held it in my hand.
I immediately loved the textural grip provided by the herringbone pattern.
I definitely fell in love with this pen and felt extremely fortunate to obtain one before they sold out.
I'm not biased towards any one brand; I am biased towards beauty and functionality... it just so happens that Conklin fountain pens catch my discerning eye most frequently and have never let me down.
I have not been a fan of many collaborative designs, but this one is a definite winner... because it's limited AND NUMBERED and has a textural pattern on the pen that I don't recall seeing and definitely do not own within my collection of many hundreds of fountain pens.
Well done on this one, Truphae!!!!
I love this pen. Just the right weight and size for my hand and the ink flows wonderfully.
I've been looking for a yellow pen for quite some time. I'm glad I waited because this one is exactly what I was looking for.
