It's true when people say you can't quite tell what this pen looks like in pictures. Depending on the light, it sometimes has a blue tone, sometimes a pink one, sometimes both. Sometimes it's translucent, sometimes not. When in strong sunlight, it seems to have a subtle shimmer as well. The pen writes smoothly, no hiccups. I chose a fine nib for the sake of variety, and it will work very well on paper that doesn't handle the medium nib of my other fountain pen.
A happy word about the customer service at Truphae. I ordered on what was a holiday in the U.S. I expected it would take a bit longer to ship the pen out since days off tend to lead to backlogs. Not at all. When I checked my e-mail at ten in the morning the very next day, the pen had already left for the post office. Talk about fast service. I will be buying from Truphae again.
Love it! ❤️
Good old Kaweco. It has withstood the test of time and is hands down the best bang for your buck. I bought a Broad nib because i like to show off my inks, not to mention that the only way you'll get a buttery-smooth nib glide at this price point is by going for a B, BB, or 1.1 stub nib (sorry, all you "fine" folks!). The pen comes with 1 international standard cartridge, but i bought the little piston converter from Truphae for $4 and that way i get to step outside the restrictive world of prefab cartridges and into my own colorful ink paradise. Beginner or not, this pen is for you! A crowd pleaser the likes of which i have yet to find in 20 years of pen enthusiasm.
Writes like a dream. The iridescent pearl pops in any light. Just a joy of a pen.
It is a pretty pen for sure, and I do like the design of it. It's comfortable in the hand, the nib is smooth, but the ink flow is very inconsistent. The feed can't keep up. I had the exact same problem with my last sport. Fortunately, after trying every trick in the book, I've made it write much better, but it's still not perfect.
