The special editions for 2021! The LAMY AL-Star is the aluminum big brother to the LAMY Safari. The smoky grey translucent triangular grip section makes it great for those starting out who have no idea how to hold a fountain pen, but it's used and loved by fountain pen lovers of all levels of experience.
These cool silver colored aluminum AL-Stars come with an interchangeable silver steel nib, which can be easily swapped out for another size. This fountain pen comes with a blue LAMY ink cartridge so you can get started writing right away. If you'd like to use bottled fountain pen ink, you can also purchase a LAMY Z28 converter.
Note: To ensure quality performance, LAMY tests their pens as a final step in manufacturing. If you happen to see any residual blue ink, rest assured that this is normal.
This collection is available in fountain pen, rollerball pen, and ballpoint pen.

This is the first Lamy pen I've ever tried and I love it - it writes smoothly from its medium nib, it's light and comfortable in the hand, the converter is easy to use, and the body has a pleasant metallic coolness when I pick it up. The cap is also easy to pull off and replace; I've had some pens with stubborn caps and this pen's cap is secure but still easy to remove. It's perfect unposted, though it's way too long and bulky when posted, almost to a comical degree - that's not a problem for me since I rarely post my full-size pens. The bottom line is that it's an excellent pen! I'll write with it regularly, and already am.
I don't really have anything else to say that other people haven't said yet, so I just did a writing sample :) I tried the left-handed nib originally but it was too thick for my tastes. Good thing you can swap the nibs out problem-free.
The pen arrived quickly and I love it! Truphae is a new site for me and I’ll absolutely be ordering more from them. Great service.
I’ve been using Lamy Pens for 30 years. They are a class act operation. I love the new color—it will soon become one of my faves. I know that if I am writing with a Lamy broad fountain pen, it will be a great experience. I’ve changed out the nib myself once and I survived! It’s embarrassing to say how many I actually have…..You absolutely cannot go wrong with a Lamy—especially one sold by Truphae….Chris and I are “pen pals”. I will believe that he is “real” when I speak to him in person. They are extremely accommodating as far as customer service—A++. LD from Big D
