Gorgeous resin, excellent workmanship, I like the magnetic closure and the fact that it is smooth and lays down a decent wet line. What bothers me about it is that it looks like the nib was an afterthought. It just looks too small and not well designed.
I would perhpas not have bought it except that I am attracted to limited edition pens and the fact there are only 39 others make it a keeper.
This is my first Visconti, and it won't be my last. I got mine in a fine nib, and it writes smoothly, and the build quality is fantastic.
The resin work of the body is subtly beautiful, I could stare at it for hours. Love the magnetic cap as well, and the broad nib writes incredibly smoothly. Truphae shipped it safely as well, would recommend :)
Constructed with vegetal resin, this pen is extremely lightweight. This is something I would not have expected with Visconti pens. I have been told thatost Italian pens are between 30 gm to 50 gm. This pen is less than 20 gm.
The nib is a smooth writer. Mine is not particularly wet.
The magnetic clasp is a nice feature. It aligns the cap and barrel perfectly.
My only hesitation is the converter. It seems a bit on the cheap side. The pen will take short and long international cartridges.
A very good pen for the price.
I am a big fan of Visconti pens. I own Visconti Homo Sapiens, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh pens. They are all amazing in craftsmanship, writing, design and aesthetics. The nibs, even steel nibs, lay down a great line, write smoothly and wet. Along comes the Mirage, which is another win in the Visconti stable of fountain pens. The Zeus in a deep and satisfying color scheme. As with the previously mentioned Visconti fountain pens, it has a good balance and feels great in my hand. I could write for days. The nib didn't need any adjustments, writes without skipping and is smooth. It leaves a nice wet line. I highly recommend this pen, especially in the the Zeus color scheme. Awesome!
