The LAMY Safari is a workhorse pen, known throughout the fountain pen community for its ruggedness, reliability, and no-nonsense functionality. The triangular grip makes it great for those starting out who have no idea how to hold a fountain pen, but it's used and loved by fountain pen lovers of all levels of experience.
The Safari comes with an interchangeable black steel nib, which can be easily swapped out for another size. This fountain pen comes with a blue LAMY ink cartridge so you can get started writing right away. If you'd like to use bottled fountain pen ink, you can also purchase a LAMY Z28 converter.

I bought this to take to work where I take notes while I'm speaking with people. I wanted a fountain pen that wrote well but wasn't too expensive to lose. This fit the bill perfectly.
I'm quite new to the world of things fountain pen. But within theimited scope of my experience, I can say that this is a delicious experience, writing with the pen.
Hey it's a Safari. I like the color. It writes a little wet.
I had one pen for years and loved it, until I tried my Safari. At the recommendation of several friends, I recently upgraded to this pen and have not been disappointed. It's dramatically lighter, which I'm still getting used to, but it's also perfectly consistent and smooth. Tack the piston converter onto your order and you've got a great, sustainable writing system without the pretension of busting out your golden fountain pen. Would also be great as a gift for any writer!
The Savannah is a great safari color by Lamy. I have been writing with it with Noodler's HOD and it is a fantastic work-horse. It's a safari after all. The only gripe I have with it is the price. Since it does not include a converter, I think the safaris should at least be $20.
