I love my new Sailor 1911S Wicked Witch of the West fountain pen. I had been plotting it's capture for many months, especially after my dog got ahold of my other Sailor and bit a chuck out of it. It's a great writer, a little scratchy but smooth overall. I love that it is light and fits my hand well. Great pen.
The translucent body and ion-blackened trim of this pen make it fascinating to behold, appearing magically luminous as light passes gently through, like morning sunlight beaming through mist in a dense forest. Myself, I've matched it to Kobe Inks's "Tamon Purple-Gray" and I'm pleased. As with all Sailor Pens I've tried, even the EF nib writes smoothly and easily, neither requiring a light touch to avoid pooling on the paper, nor having to press hard to draw the ink out. There is a reason why 22% of my pen collection is Sailor or a brand working with Sailor. Not only does Sailor make some of the most beautiful, eye-enchanting resins and color combinations, but I always know that it will be a great writing experience.
