This Sailor Compass HighAce Neo calligraphy fountain pen has a transparent clear resin body, a blue cap, a clear feed, and silver trim. It comes with a stainless steel nib available in three stub italic nib sizes. Each pen comes with three proprietary Sailor Black ink cartridges; you can also purchase a Sailor converter separately to use bottled ink.

No surprises

The 1.0mm version of the "High Ace Calligraphy Pen" might be considered by some as a "calligraphy lite" version. The horizontal lines are crisp and clean, just as the vertical lines are. The barrel is a slim size, light weight and does not slip through my fingers while I'm writing. It might be considered for musical notation if one writes small. Curlicues are easy to execute. Ditto kanji. If one were to purchase the two other nib sizes (1.5mm and 2.0mm), a full arsenal of calligraphy pens for most lettering work would be complete. The price is right!
