The TWSBI ECO fountain pen boasts an incredible value with its piston filling system and affordable price. Like many other TWSBI fountain pens, this special edition ECO features a crystal clear acrylic barrel so you can see your ink level, and a translucent yellow cap and piston knob. The pen cap has an inner cap to ensure a perfect seal when stored away. It is completed with silver trim and a silver stainless steel nib. This color is a limited production run.
TWSBI’s belief is that it is important to allow the user to disassemble and reassemble the pen and completely experience the traditional aspects of owning and using a fountain pen. These pens also come packaged with a wrench and silicone grease. Neither of these accessories are intended to be used immediately, as they are for long-term care and maintenance. Additionally, please use extra care if you choose to disassemble the nib and feed, as the feed is very fragile.
I am a newbie when it comes to fountain pens. That being said, so far I have collected LAMY Safari's and a LAMY Studio. This Eco blows the Safari's out of the water. I would say it is on par easily with the Lamy Studio for a third of the cost. This pen punches way above it's league and I would recommend it to anyone on the fence starting out or experienced.
I never thought I'd want a yellow pen. I was strictly a black pen user, but here I am, and I'm using Rohrer & Klingner Helianthus (sample gifted to me by a pen pal). It's a very nice match!
The medium nib writes a bit broader than I'm used to, but I prefer broader... and juicier... nibs now. Oh yeah, I used to prefer Western EF and Japanese F nibs, but now I prefer M & B for more inky goodness.
The grip is very nice, the pen is light weight, and the super capacity is always a plus. If only they'd make a transparent pink or fuchsia Eco! What can I say? I'm a collector and the Eco is my favorite pen. I'll buy it in every color available.
