The Visconti Ponte Vecchio Set (fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint) was created and produced in 1995 to celebrate the 650th Anniversary of the world famous bridge in Florence, Italy., the Pontevecchio.

The Ponte Vecchio Series comprised 3 different color scheme pens (Adriatic Stone, Pompeii Blue and Silver Granite) and all have become true classics. The colors chosen for the three pens symbolize the different stones which were used to build the bridge: Adriatic stone ( light gray/azurite with black streaks), Granite (a mixture of burgundy and gray tones), Pompeii (deep cobalt blue and orange).

These writing instruments are made of celluloid sheets over acrylic structures with gold-plated trim using a cartridge/converter ink system. The band and the clip are engraved to honor Benvenuto Cellini, the most revered Florentine goldsmith whose statue stands at the centre of the bridge.

The outline of the Pontevecchio bridge is engraved on the cap band while the serial number is placed on the large band on top of the cap.
