while called the Reaper, this pen is essentially a Conklin All American. Its a large cigar shaped pen. it is very light and comfortable despite the size. the medium nib wrote out of the box, if a bit on the dry side. I also enjoyed the orange and black resin and hope Truphae comes out with other special editions of this pen.
This pen does have a gorgeous colorway. Yes, it's Halloween-y, but it's subtle enough that it's merely beautiful the rest of the year. My complaints about the pen are: It's thicker than I like. I didn't have another Conklin All-American, so in that sense I didn't know what I would be getting. That's not really a fair complaint as much as it is my personal preference. I prefer slimmer pens. Offsetting that is the nice heft and balance of this pen, so it's a wash. My real complaint is that the cap doesn't post. Again, it's preference: I prefer pens with caps that post.
Overall, I'm pleased with the pen, especially its esthetics. The rest is just preference.
I absolutely love this pen! It looks awesome, feels great and writes very nicely. I am a Conklin fan and this one is a keeper! Thank you Truly as!
The pen has good weight. The color is great. It’s skips a lot. Changed from cartridge to converter continue to skip. However, once it gets going it goes. Not a fan at all.
Conklin has become my go to pen, writes all day, no hard starts, good quality pen. If you have the money buy your dream pen! But for the value I will buy conklin. It is the best pen for the money! Those $100 to $10,000+ pen will not do any better than my pen the Conklin.
