Duke Beijing Opera Cobalt Cloisonne Fountain Pen
The cloisonné finish is done in a cobalt blue color, with face paintings and the 18K rose gold trim. These are large and hefty pens, all-brass construction underneath. The raised wire (part of the cloisonné process) on the barrel resembles clouds. This version features two faces -- one white and pink and one brown and black. Each pen is decorated with two of the traditional painted faces of characters from famous operas. The cap band shows a traditional Chinese decorative pattern and the clip resembles a snake. It is very detailed and eye-catching.
Duke's 14k solid gold nib feels soft with a nice amount of spring to it. The cut-outs on the sides increase the flex.
Comes with an outer sleeve, a large padded outer box, wooden inner box, leather two-pen carry case, user booklet....very heavy and impressive packaging, this would make quite a gift.
