I'm quite new to the world of things fountain pen. But within theimited scope of my experience, I can say that this is a delicious experience, writing with the pen.
Hey it's a Safari. I like the color. It writes a little wet.
I had one pen for years and loved it, until I tried my Safari. At the recommendation of several friends, I recently upgraded to this pen and have not been disappointed. It's dramatically lighter, which I'm still getting used to, but it's also perfectly consistent and smooth. Tack the piston converter onto your order and you've got a great, sustainable writing system without the pretension of busting out your golden fountain pen. Would also be great as a gift for any writer!
The Savannah is a great safari color by Lamy. I have been writing with it with Noodler's HOD and it is a fantastic work-horse. It's a safari after all. The only gripe I have with it is the price. Since it does not include a converter, I think the safaris should at least be $20.
I could not be happier with the LAMY Safari 2021 fountain pen in savannah green. It's a light-weight pen with a fantastic nib that writes effortlessly and feels great in my hand. As a newbie to the fountain pen world, I don't have a lot of experience to draw on to compare this pen to other pens in its class, but I'm impressed at the quality of the pen at this price point.
Also, the service from Truphae was outstanding. The pen shipped quickly and was extremely well-packaged to ensure that the pen wouldn't be damaged in transit. My pen also included a hand-written note from the staff that even included a note as to what brand and color ink the note was written in, just in case I wanted to know or order it in the future (I likely will).
If you're looking for an introductory pen, a travel pen, or a gift pen, I'd recommend the LAMY Safari fountain pen. It's a great choice.
