The Montblanc 32S is one of the rarest pens of the late 60's, where "S" stands for "Stahl", which means "steel" in German. This was the only Montblanc pen to feature a stainless steel cap, beside the Monte Rosa pens. The body is made out of black resin. This is one of the biggest pens of the class. Unlike the standard 32 which has a thread on cap, this one is a slip on cap, identical to the Montblanc model 22 and 24. This feature allows for fast deployment of the pen, ready to write in virtually a second.
These models were the start of the new era fountain pens in the early 60's, which were elongated, with sharp edges, reliable and with a focus on functionality and design. The pen is also one of the first with a specifically enclosed wing nib, suspended over ebonite feeder. The Precious Black Resin, the signature material of Montblanc, is a specially tempered plastic which gives the pen a unique shine and gloss but also a tough protection, as this material is hard to scratch or damage. Black resin will always shine like new.
The pen has a very intricate feeding system, very reliable with a constant and even ink flow. The nib is semi-flexible and smooth, thus with a gentle push while writing it will write up to a nib size larger and produce variety of styles. The piston is smooth and takes a considerable amount of ink.
This particular pen is in excellent vintage condition, and comes without the original boxes and papers.
