The Patron of Art Edition Karl der Grosse, Hommage à Charlemagne pays tribute to this great cultural visionary of the first millennium with an equally great writing instrument. The barrel and cap of Edition 4810 are made of delicately wound 925 sterling silver. The detailed gold-plated mountings are reminiscent of Carolingian features in the decoration of Aachen Cathedral, where Charlemagne was crowned. In Edition 888, barrel, cap, rings and clip are all made of solid 750 white gold and decorated with tsavorites – green garnets. The hand-worked, rhodium-plated nib in 18-karat gold is decorated by an engraving of an early Medieval pattern and the emperor’s monogram.
