Besides their unusual name, Noodler's inks are best known for their extraordinary range of colors, low cost by volume, an distinctive labels that owner Nathan Tardif uses as a platform for his strongly held political beliefs. The brand's name and catfish logo are inspired by the sport of catching catfish with your bare hands. Tardif admires the egalitarianism of noodling - no amount of money or connects can give you an advantage over anyone else. The egalitarian philosophy extends into every aspect of Tardif's operation. He makes all of his inks by hand using locally sourced components wherever possible, and he prices his inks as low as he can without actually losing money so that they can be accessible to as many people as possible. In addition to nearly three dozen standard inks - more than more brands' entire selection - Noodler's offers over 70 specialty inks with useful and exotic properties that no other brands have.

This particular ink is forgery resistant (impervious to lasers, alcohols, solvents - ideal for security documents), and water resistant.

We are authorized retailers for Noodlers, so this bottle will come directly from the manufacturer.

Best Blue Ink Made

This is one of the most "VIVID BLUE" inks I have ever used, plus its as close to water proof as you can get, even though it is not advertised as such,
I'm using it in my Noodlers Ahab and two of my Lamy's and I'm having no trouble with clogging what so ever, This is about as close to DE Arramentis (Bullet Proof) Document ink as you can get, which is my go to ink in Black.

Perfect for Office

I am a pathology resident and my notes are frequently around fluids. I had to choose between using ballpoint pens (ugh!) and water resistant inks (yay!) Noodlers inks have an amazing range of water resistant inks and I decided to try them. This ink has such an awesome blue color and is completely water resistant - I purposefully spilled water on my notes to make sure :D. I have been using in with my Lamy studio so I don’t know if it stains demonstrators and if I’ll have any issues on changing inks - but I’ll be sure to update my review if I have any issues. For now, I highly recommend these inks for people working around liquids!

Love this Blue

I love Noodlers Baystate Blue Ink. First it is my favorite shade if Blue and second the archival/water resistant is really useful since I don’t have to worry about the writing smearing if water hits it. It dries quickly and looks good coming out of my Fine Nibbed pens. I really like this ink. Since it is water resistant I wear gloves when I fill and clean pens with this ink but a good brush and bleach cleanser removes any stains. I consider it worth the small price of effort to use my favorite Blue.

Very nearly signed my death warrant

I really liked this ink when I first got it in my Inkredible box up until last night. I went to my kitchen sink to clean the ink out of my Montverde pen so that I could try my new Hayabusa ink. I've cleaned ink before in our sink without a problem at all but this ink..... It stained my 2 month old stainless steel sink. Hoo boy if my mama had seen it she would have killed me. I did manage to get it clean but I'm not sure if I will ever use it again. Other than the staining, my nib got stuck when I tried to remove it, almost breaking the feed, and it stained the converter and nib feed. If I do use it again it will be with my dip pen alone. because it is a very nice color and the bottle comes filled to the brim.

Beautiful Blue!

I love Noodlers Inks and was very happy to receive this is my September Inkredible Box. I heard stories about how careful you had to be with Baystate Blue so I hesitated to try it. Well, let me tell you, this ink is gorgeous. Such a vivid blue. It stands out and works well on all types of papers. I am very happy I received this in my box. I do suggest you open your bottle carefully because, as we all know, Nathan fills them to the brim!
