This Sailor 1911 Standard Maki-e "Genji-Monogatari" fountain pen features maki-e artwork of The tale of Genji atop a white resin body, by maki-e artisan Kosen Oshita. This series is created using traditional Kaga-Maki-e techniques onto the 1911S body. A young energetic artist - an ancestor of traditional Kaga-Maki-e family traditions - has developed this Maki-e series in a modern and stylish way.
This fountain pen is complemented by gold-plated accents, and comes equipped with Sailor's legendary 14kt yellow gold nib with 24kt gold plating in medium. The cap screws to open/close and can push to post onto the back of the barrel when writing. The 1911S comes with a Sailor proprietary converter as well as two proprietary Sailor Black ink cartridges.
