I should point out that I write with a fountain pen whenever possible, but I use a ballpoint either on certain types of paper or cardstock not suitable for fountain pens or when I travel by air (since changes in cabin pressure can wreak havoc on fountain pens). I bought the Black Forest ballpoint as a companion to the fountain pen, and it has similarly sleek contours and the same gorgeous finish (but again, as is true of the fountain pen, I can't see even a hint of green in the dark grey color--even in direct sunlight). The pen has a comfortable weight and feel in the hand, and the twist action is easy and smooth. The black medium M16 refill that came supplied with the pen has proven reliable to date: I haven't experienced any blobs or skips. All in all, I consider this a worthy companion to the fountain pen.
