The AP Limited Editions Urushi Lacquer Art Fountain Pen - Aka Tamenuri Stardust builds on one of urushi's most recognizable layered finishes, pairing the deep red character of Aka tamenuri with red sparkle and a sculptural bamboo-style clip.

Urushi Finish

Aka tamenuri uses translucent upper layers of urushi over a red foundation to create a finish with pronounced depth. The body can read dark burgundy across its broad surfaces, while warmer red tones become more visible along edges and transitions as light passes through the lacquer.

Fine red sparkles are distributed throughout the finish, adding flashes of light without overwhelming the traditional tamenuri effect. The bamboo-style clip provides an organic visual counterpoint to the smooth lacquered cap and barrel.

Writing Experience

This pen is offered in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, and Broad nib choices. One physical pen is available, with nib size selected at the time of order.
