Understated and impeccably built, the Diplomat Excellence A2 Fountain Pen in Pearl White & Chrome pairs a luminous lacquer finish with confident everyday performance. Its full-metal construction offers reassuring solidity in hand, while polished chrome details keep the look clean and modern.
Craftsmanship & Design
The pearl white lacquer is smooth and even, set against crisp chrome trim for a refined contrast. A sturdy metal clip holds securely without snagging, and the cap closes with a precise, confidence-inspiring action that helps protect the nib when on the move. Balanced proportions make the A2 easy to reach for throughout the day, from meeting notes to weekend journaling.
Writing Experience
A German-made stainless steel nib delivers consistent, reliable ink flow with a pleasantly smooth feel. Available in extra-fine, fine, medium, and broad, it suits everything from tight annotations to expressive signatures. The cartridge/converter system offers simple flexibility: use convenient cartridges or a converter with your favorite bottled inks.

I love both the A2 and A2 Plus. I’ve been a collector/user of fountain pens since high school in the 70’s. I have a number of super high end pens but these I use daily. The fit and finish are exacting. The ink flow and nib performance I have to say are the most reliable of any brand - never a single issue. Yes, Montblanc and Pilot are also excellent but not so consistently smooth. (Sailor is great but with quite a bit of feedback) Hard to believe that a plastic feed and Jowo nib can equal the best. I don’t understand why the Diplomat A2 is so “under the radar”. I think it’s because the design is low key as opposed to the Aero. If you write a lot as I do - try one! - you’ll love it!
