This Penlux Masterpiece Grande fountain pen features an oversized translucent blue and white flecked resin body, complemented by silver trim. The clip features a roller for ease of use. The cap screws onto the barrel for closing, and pushes to post onto the back when writing. The Masterpiece Grande fills via internal piston mechanism for use with bottled fountain pen ink. It comes with a smooth-writing #6 German-made JoWo steel nib.
This fountain pen feels great in the hand, looks stunning, posts well and writes like a dream. Really, the nib is so smooth it feels like you're gliding along the paper. It is my new favorite. It has written well since I filled it and it continues to do so. The piston makes filling the pen easy. The Grande is a bigger pen body so it would be a great pen for people who write for a long time--more ink too. The resin body is smooth and warm in the hand. I had seen some pens from the 20s and 30s that were black and white or black and cream and I wanted to get something in that color and I found it in this Grande black and white. I have bought some other pens since I bought the Grande but I change them out before I refill them and consistently use the Grande. Everything about this pen is quality.
