The Romain Jerome Moon Fighter Rollerball Pen – Heavy Metal edition is a striking fusion of space-age fantasy, high-end Swiss craftsmanship and collectible design. Created by the Swiss maison Romain Jerome (now RJ) and rooted in the brand’s Moon-DNA ethos, this writing instrument is crafted to look as though it has just returned from orbit.

Finished in brushed “Heavy Metal” stainless steel with riveted detailing, the pen body evokes the fuselage of a fighter jet or spacecraft. A transparent plexiglass “cockpit” near the cap reveals a fragment of certified Moon Dust™ floating inside—a hallmark of the Moon-DNA collection’s connection to lunar material. Every part of the pen is Swiss-manufactured and hand-assembled, comprising more than 100 components, including 48 hand-set rivets and a carbon-fibre docking station.

The rollerball employes a standard G2-type cartridge refill for global convenience, making it both a collector’s piece and a ready-to-write instrument. The Heavy Metal version is one of three finishes (alongside Black Metal and Vintage) and was limited in series to just 888 pieces worldwide—making it rare, bold and conversation-worthy. 

Presented in a custom cradle reminiscent of a spacecraft docking bay and protected in a leather sleeve during travel, the Moon Fighter Heavy Metal is as much a statement of design as it is a functional writing instrument. Its weight, finish and story make it a distinctive choice for connoisseurs of avant-garde luxury pens.
