The AP Limited Editions Writer Maki-e “Sparkle” Fountain Pen celebrates the shimmering beauty of nature through masterful Japanese lacquer art techniques. Limited to just 9 pieces worldwide in its edition, Sparkle showcases a body crafted from alternating panels of radiant abalone shell inlay and rich nashiji lacquer—a copper-gold powdered surface that glitters with every turn of the pen.

The pen’s name speaks to the effect: a shimmering checkered field of light and color, woven with historic maki-e craftsmanship. Nestled beneath the high gloss finish is AP’s tradition of artistry: hand-applied layers of urushi, meticulous shell inlay (raden) and precisely sprinkled gold or silver powders.
