PREORDER — Reserve your Pelikan M1000 Black & Blue now. Estimated arrival date has not yet been confirmed. Orders will ship once stock arrives.
The Pelikan Souveran M1000 Black & Blue gives Pelikan’s flagship fountain pen a striking new expression for the United States market. A blue-striped barrel, polished black precious resin and warm gold trim create a composition that feels immediately recognizable as a Souveran, while bringing a fresh color combination to the largest model in the collection.
Blue celluloid acetate accents provide the visual focus, framed by the black resin cap and fittings. The striped treatment brings depth and variation to the barrel, while the contrasting surfaces keep the overall appearance balanced. Gold trim adds warmth against the cooler blue tones, giving the pen a formal character suited to both a writing desk and a carefully chosen collection.
Each instrument is polished to a high-gloss finish. Pelikan’s signature beak-shaped clip is plated in 24k gold and mounted by hand, bringing one of the brand’s most familiar details to the cap. The result reflects the Souveran approach to decoration: recognizable proportions, considered materials and a finish that allows the striped barrel to remain central.
An 18k gold nib with rhodium decoration anchors the writing experience. Its generous M1000 scale gives this pen a distinctive presence in the hand and on the page. Available here in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad, it allows the writer to select a line width appropriate to compact notes, personal correspondence or more expansive handwriting.
The integrated piston mechanism draws ink directly from a bottle and offers a stated capacity of 1.35 ml. It is a practical match for writers who enjoy choosing their own bottled inks and spending time with a substantial fountain pen. The combination of a large gold nib and piston filling remains central to the appeal of Pelikan’s flagship platform.
The Souveran design tradition reaches back to 1950, linking this contemporary colorway to decades of Pelikan writing-instrument craftsmanship. Offered as a USA exclusive, Black & Blue provides a distinctive option for enthusiasts who appreciate the M1000’s established form and want a different expression of its striped design.
