I believe this Lamy gift set is discontinued. I saw a stock photo of it online somewhere and it was love at first sight. But even with the magic of Google image search, I had a hard time finding it for sale anywhere. Truphae to the rescue! There were a few on eBay as well (more expensive) but I would rather support a small family-owned business that I can actually communicate with. I had never heard of Truphae before, and I'm really glad my search led me to them. They have excellent customer service and possibly the fastest shipping I've ever seen (I'm in another country).
That aside, this is an exquisite gift set. The box itself has a lovely presentation and would make a wonderful Christmas, birthday, or Valentine's Day present. (This one was a gift from me to myself, so the presentation wasn't so important. But it's nice to have the box to keep the pen and notebook in when I'm not using them.) The notebook cover has a beautiful rose-gold glint that looks amazing when the sun catches it. The paper surprised me -- it has a subtle dotted grid between the lines, which are well-spaced for practicing penmanship. And of course the pen is wonderful too. I already have a Lamy Al-Star, which I love, but this LX is truly luxe. Just little details like the way the clip matches the body and so on. Beautiful.
