Bodhi - Made exclusively by BENU for Truphae

Bodhi is our second retailer exclusive produced by BENU after relocating from Russia to Armenia. It is a limited production of just 300 pens.

With its roots deep in ancient Indian history and culture, the Bodhi Tree, otherwise known as Indian Fig Tree, is a sacred symbol of peace, hope, and inspiration. The Bodhi Tree truly is a fascinating subject that offers profound insights into the human quest for meaning and purpose. Discover legend, myth and folklore as we explore the rich history of this "tree of awakening"; the inspiration behind the latest BENU Talisman creation - Bodhi.

The Bodhi Tree is considered by many to be the most spiritual of them all; in fact, the Buddha himself is said to have sat under this natural wonder and attained enlightenment circa 500 BCE. Furthermore, in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit, bodhi translates literally as enlightenment or awakening. So it's no wonder that this beloved tree has become a true symbol of spiritual growth that has been revered for centuries in Buddhist culture.

Called Ashwatha in Sanskrit, the Bodhi Tree is sacred to Hindus as well as Buddhists. The tree is mentioned in the most revered of all Hindu texts, the Bhagavad Gita, which dates back to the 2nd century CE. In this sacred scripture, Ashwatha is considered "the one that is not the same tomorrow", with the reference perhaps to this ever-changing earth. The tree's impressive branches are never cut, unless for worship, as Hindus believe that the tree is no other than Vishnu himself.

The beauty of the Bodhi Tree is awe-inspiring, with its lush foliage and spreading branches that seem to reach towards the sky. The tree's open limbs beckon in all who pass by to sit and meditate beneath its shade, just as the Buddha did so many years ago. The Bodhi Tree certainly makes its presence known; it's impossible to be in its company and not feel the gravity of its impressiveness. The Bodhi Tree encourages us to get in touch with our playful side, our inner child, and to take life less seriously. We are reminded to be at one with nature, and enjoy the simplicity of being in the moment.

Dream interpreters claim that seeing a Bodhi Tree whilst in sleep state can hold powerful and symbolic meaning. Apparently, if the dreamer is sitting under the tree, it may indicate a desire for introspection and self-reflection, while climbing the tree may suggest a longing for spiritual elevation and a desire to reach a higher level of understanding. If the tree is seen swaying in the wind, it could be a sign that the dreamer is searching for more tranquility in life, or that things are getting out of hand.

"Native to India and Southeast Asia, catching a Bodhi Tree may take considerable planning. But if you are lucky enough to do so, take a moment to sit and bask in its beauty, and let its calming presence wash over you. Fans of the natural world and the stories behind them, here at BENU we've made getting in touch with the Bodhi Tree a great deal easier! Our new creation - Bodhi - is infused with real Bodhi Tree dried leaves, making it a true work-of-art. Who knows, put pen to paper with this writing instrument, and perhaps your journey towards self-discovery will unfold."

Great Pen

Got this is a monthly subscription package. Love the BENU line, as this is my second pen from them. Comfortable feel. Great nib. Can’t wait to put it in my rotation.

I really enjoy Beni pens, but this one is especially nice. The material has an otherworldly quality. The finish is luxurious and the facets in the barrel make it hard to put down. These are my go-to poetry pens.

Absolutely Stunning!!

Brown is my least favorite color. But this pen is stunning and mesmerizing. The grip color isn't the greatest. But the barrell and cap material has depth and beautiful color! Even the brown is beautiful. The broad nib is nice and smooth and writes very well. Thie pen is very comfortable and light. And the glitter in this pen isn't over-the-top. It really just highlights the other colors of the pen. I love BENU packaging. It's eco-friendly (compared to so many other brands) and simple. Great pen!

A Benu for Introverts

This is a Benu that doesn’t knock anybody’s eyes out. It makes a less flashy, more stately impression. It does have some sparkle but, perhaps because the bits are larger and the material is a bit less translucent than some, it seems almost to be illuminated from within. The mix of translucent green and opaque brown is unusual and I really like it. Many BENUs are a bit over the top for me. This is only my 2nd and it is my favorite. There’s a lot I like about the size, balance, postability and weight. The Talisman seems to be my favorite model so far so it s is great to have these calmer choices. My other one is also a Talisman; the Dragon’s Blood.
