The Private Reserve Infinity Extended Cap Off Ink Bottle - Blue-Black delivers a refined, professional blue-black with a modern formula that resists drying on the nib when a pen is left uncapped. It offers steady flow and dependable starts, making everyday notes, lists, and journal entries feel smooth and consistent.
Color & Formula
This balanced blue-black reads crisp and legible on the page, with enough depth for formal writing and enough blue to keep it lively. Private Reserve's extended cap-off technology helps maintain moisture at the nib, reducing hard starts and skips after short pauses or quick notations.
Everyday Writing
Easy to enjoy and simple to maintain, this fountain pen ink suits a wide range of nibs and paper types. It cleans up with standard pen care and provides a comfortable, even line that supports daily writing without fuss.

I bought Private Reserve Infinity Blue/Black ink, 1-oz. bottle.
I have so far tested it with two pens on Rhodia 80 gsm lined paper.
First, I loaded the converter to my Franklin-Christoph Marietta 20, EF steel nib. Flow was immediate and continuous with no skipping. I also left the cap off for 15 minutes and then wrote and the Infinity technology came through. Flow was perfect. Darkness of shade remained next day. I might want to go to a drier ink (such as Diamine 1864) for this pen to get line width same as the several other inks I’ve used.
Second, I loaded a 70-series converter in my Pilot Custom 74 EF gold nib. I had previously used Iroshizuku shin-kai in the proprietary cartridge. The shin-kai flowed perfectly, but while it appeared dark upon writing and while still wet, next day it had lightened a couple shades to a medium blue. So, I bought the 70-series Pilot converter and looked for an ink that would flow through the EF nib but would dry darker. The Private Reserve Infinity flowed immediately and perfectly. I then left the cap off for 60 minutes and there was a tiny micro skip at first, but then flowed very well. The critical test to compare it against the Iroshizuku shin-kai came the next day. The Private Reserve Infinity lines dried as dark as when written the day before. So, I think that Infinity is my ink for my Pilot Custom 74.
