Limited to just 310 pieces globally, the Pen of the Year 2020 draws inspiration from the legendary Greek heroes of Sparta and their renowned king, Leonidas. The pen embodies the spirit of Spartan warriors, renowned for their discipline, bravery, and superior training from childhood, molded by the military and guided by the gods, particularly Athena.

Reflecting the toughness and resilience of Spartan armor, the pen's barrel is adorned with premium diamonds, reminiscent of the rivets on the warriors' gear. The milled grip zone and decorations pay homage to the Spartans' breastplates and battle dress, while the spring-loaded clip is inspired by their iconic helmet and the shape of a horse's neck.

The end cap features lacquered inlay with the lambda symbol, representing the Lacedaemonians, the historical name of the Spartan state. The pen's design, with its matt ruthenium-coated barrel, grip, clip, and lambda symbol, evokes the bravery, honor, and loyalty of the Spartans.

Seven rough diamonds symbolize their robustness and strength, while the milled pattern on the barrel recalls their strip-style armor.
