Made by the artisan team at AP Limited Editions, the piece celebrates the revered Ishiji lacquer technique—where countless thin layers of raw urushi tree sap are applied and brushed, followed by the sprinkling of dried urushi powder for texture, then polished to reveal a subtle, tactile finish.
This edition features a deep black urushi body, painstakingly built up in multiple lacquer layers. Over this foundation, rich gold-powder accents are applied by hand, creating a sophisticated contrast of midnight hue and warm metallic shimmer. Each pen becomes a unique work of art—variations in texture and gold placement ensure no two pieces are exactly alike.
The metal trim is expertly selected to complement the lacquered surface. The pen is fitted with a high-performance 14k gold nib, available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad sizes, tuned for smooth and responsive writing.
