I bought this pen as a work anniversary gift to myself. I chose this pen over quite a few others because it is such a unique looking pen. I think it stands out as a pen that says "yeah, I've worked here 15 years". I couldn't be more satisfied. I believe it is a brass pen and the weight is more than I like so not ideal for extended writing. The shape is a bit awkward to hold but so pretty that I still enjoy it. The things that really stand out about this pen are the very unique twist mechanism for opening the pen. You twist the barrel and the nib pops out gracefully. This is the 3rd pen I have with a retractable nib, the other two being a Pilot Vanishing Point and a Platinum Curidas, and I find the process of opening and closing much more satisfying. The second thing, and probably the best, is the nib. This pen has a gold nib and it is by far the smoothest nib I have. It is just a pleasure to write with. I am using it with a new to me ink so I find it hard to judge how wet a writer it is compared to other pens, but it looks like it is probably somewhere between medium to wet.
