Originally released as a dip pen around the year 1900, the Perkeo has been revived as a stylish entry-level fountain pen perfect for students and beginners. Created with colorful matte finishes, the pen has an octagonal cap and sixteen-edged barrel. The cap is designed to snap on and off and the section has an ergonomic grip. The pen has then been fitted with a stainless steel nib and comes with a short standard international ink cartridge.

This is one of my favorite fountain pens. I have it in the medium, and I find it writes really well regardless of ink I use. It’s also a really affordable pen, so I use it all the time without fear of losing it. It’s just a great workhorse for me, and I don’t have to be too precious with it. I got it for that purpose actually, but I reach for it over fancier pens anyway because I love how Kawecos write. I love this design, too. It’s kind of kitsch. I find it to be the perfect amount of funky: It just makes me happy. Kaweco makes my favorite pens in general.
I received this in my second Inkmeister Premium box this month and while it’s a alright, basic pen… I do not like the colors at all. I would’ve loved to get the “Bad Taste” or “Peony Blossom” over this one. Mine has a fine nib and it’s very fine. A tiny bit scratchy, but it could’ve been the ink as well. I’ll try it with a different ink next time. It feels nice in my hand but I definitely prefer the Sport over this one.
I really didn’t care for this. Honestly it was the only thing in my box I disliked. But the plastic felt like a toy, the colors looked juvenile, and the nib was just too dry and scratchy compared to other F nibs in my collection. I know people love Kaweco, but it’s just not my thing.
