A fantastic value from Pilot, the Metropolitan is a favorite first fountain pen. Part of the Retro Pop collection, this grey metal bodied pen has a patterned accent band, silver trim, and a steel nib. It comes with a black Pilot ink cartridge and a squeeze converter to use with bottled ink, or you can upgrade to a Con-40 converter if you prefer that style. It comes packaged in a gift box.

These are enjoyable pens so far 100% with Pilot
Ordered the fine nib. Writes well. Was missing the bulb ink filler but customer service sent one when I let them know.
Received my order, was a little surprised to open it and find an orange pen with a flower design when I ordered a gray houndstooth, but it was still a Pilot Metropolitan. It writes very beautifully and I actually do like the second design, though naturally I'm not sure if it's the same nib I ordered because it's my first fountain pen and I don't have enough reference to tell. But I've tried it with multiple inks and I'm loving the experience, so it balances out.
This is an excellent pen for the money period. It’s great quality and I love I can and did buy the refillable cartridge to fill and reuse it again and again. Customer service was great too.
