The Montblanc Meisterstuck 163R Bordeaux Rollerball Pen is the discontinued burgundy-red counterpart to the classic black Meisterstuck Classique. Its deep Bordeaux precious-resin cap and barrel are paired with gold-plated trim, creating one of the most recognizable color combinations from Montblanc's late twentieth-century writing-instrument catalog.
The 163R follows the slender Classique proportions, with polished Bordeaux precious resin, a gold-plated clip, gold-colored cap rings, and the white Montblanc emblem set into the cap crown. The warm burgundy finish has become particularly desirable since the original Bordeaux range was discontinued, making clean examples increasingly attractive to collectors assembling matching Meisterstuck sets.
As a rollerball, the 163R combines the convenience of a refill-based writing instrument with the fluid feel and darker line typically associated with liquid-ink rollerball refills. The capped design protects the refill tip between uses, while the slim Classique body remains comfortable for everyday writing and signatures.
