Egg Cockle, recognized as "the aristocrat of the sea," is predominantly harvested in the Chungcheongnam-do region of Korea. Referred to as a "bird clam" in Korean, its nomenclature stems from the resemblance of the meat inside the shellfish to a bird's beak. Namdang Port in Hongseong-gun is particularly renowned for this delicacy, as it reaches the peak of its seasonality from January to February in the West Sea tidal flat during the cold winter.
