The AP Limited Editions Sakura Lacquer Art Fountain Pen - Tango uses a bright orange urushi lacquer base as the foundation for an energetic geometric design. Tangerine and blue diamond forms move across the cap and barrel in a repeating pattern, while a bright blue urushi section creates a strong contrast when the pen is uncapped. The result is vivid without feeling chaotic, with the lacquer giving the color a depth and softness that a simple painted surface would not achieve.
Tango belongs to AP Limited Editions' Sakura Lacquer Art collection, where decorative lacquer work is used as the primary design language rather than as a surface accent. The orange base establishes warmth, while the blue elements break up the composition and give the diamond pattern greater visual definition. Because the pattern is carried across a rounded writing instrument, the design changes continuously as the pen is turned in the hand.
The bright blue section is especially important to the composition. It does not simply repeat the exterior decoration; instead, it introduces a concentrated field of cool color that becomes visible only when the cap is removed.
