This is not a traditional floral maki-e scene.
It is motion captured in lacquer.

The base lacquer presents a warm, bubble-gum pink tone — smooth and luminous beneath a high-gloss finish. Across that serene foundation, vivid crimson and deep teal lacquer fragments appear scattered in dynamic, organic bursts.
These are not applied decals or printed motifs. The composition is built directly into the lacquer layers, with each colored element placed and sealed through successive applications of natural urushi. The result feels spontaneous — like petals mid-flight — yet is executed with deliberate control.
