The Caran d’Ache Leman Bicolor Ballpoint Pen in White & Silver pairs the softness of white lacquer with the brightness of silver-toned metal. Its restrained palette gives the rounded Leman silhouette a distinctive character: polished enough for formal correspondence, yet practical for the notes and signatures that fill an ordinary day.
Craftsmanship & Design
A brass body provides the foundation for the white lacquer finish. The upper section and clip bring a contrasting silver-plated, rhodium-coated surface, creating a clear transition between color and metal. Fine engraved lines add detail without overwhelming the pen’s balanced proportions.
The combination is especially effective in white, where the contrast depends on texture and reflection as much as on color. The lacquer offers a smooth visual surface, while the metal catches the light differently as the pen turns. A hinged clip completes the design and provides a practical way to secure the pen in a pocket or pen loop.
Writing Experience
The ballpoint format makes this Leman a convenient choice for quick notes, document signing and everyday correspondence. A twist-action mechanism extends and retracts the writing tip, keeping the pen ready for use without a separate cap to remove. Its rounded body and tapered front section provide a familiar shape for writers who prefer a substantial metal writing instrument.
The pen accepts Caran d’Ache Goliath ballpoint refills. This replaceable refill system allows the owner to select an appropriate available point width and ink color while retaining the same writing instrument. It also makes the Leman a useful counterpart to a fountain pen when the task calls for the convenience of a ballpoint.
Collection & Heritage
Named for Lake Geneva, also known as Lac Leman, the collection explores the relationship between color, light and polished surfaces. The White & Silver Bicolor interpretation carries that idea through a simple pairing of lacquer and reflective metal. Swiss manufacture and the collection’s recognizable curved profile make it an appealing choice for someone who values a carefully finished writing tool with an understated appearance.
