The Conklin 1898 Solaris Fountain Pen - Blue brings a clean, modern finish to the 1898 platform while preserving details that connect the collection to Conklin's historic identity. The blue body is paired with chrome trim and the engraved 1898 center band, creating an everyday fountain pen with a restrained, contemporary profile.

Craftsmanship & Design

The 1898 collection takes its name from Conklin's founding year and uses a cigar-shaped body, polished metal appointments, and the brand's patented rocker-style clip. Solaris keeps the form visually simple so the color and silhouette remain the focus, while the engraved cap band provides the clearest link to Conklin's heritage.

Writing Experience

A premium #6 JoWo stainless steel nib is available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Omniflex, and 1.1mm Stub. The broad range makes the same pen suitable for precise note-taking, general correspondence, broader everyday writing, or more expressive line variation. Filling is by standard international cartridge or threaded converter, with a converter included.

Brand Heritage

Conklin traces its history to Toledo, Ohio in 1898 and became known for practical fountain pen innovation, including the Crescent Filler and rocker-style clip. The modern 1898 collection references that history while using contemporary nibs and filling systems suited to daily writing.
