The Conklin All American Fountain Pen - Matte Black & Rose Gold combines the oversized, streamlined profile of the All American with a restrained matte black resin body and warm rose gold-tone appointments. The contrast gives the pen a modern, slightly dressier character while preserving the substantial proportions and practical filling system that define the collection.
The All American uses a broad, tapered resin body designed to feel substantial without becoming unwieldy in the hand. The matte black finish softens reflections and gives the pen a clean, understated surface, while the rose gold-tone trim adds warmth around the clip, cap band, and hardware. Conklin's rocker-style clip provides a recognizable vintage-inspired detail and makes the pen easy to secure in a pocket or case.
The pen is fitted with a #6 JoWo stainless steel nib and is available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, 1.1mm Stub, and Omniflex. The standard nib sizes provide straightforward everyday writing options, while the 1.1mm Stub adds broader line variation and the Omniflex offers a softer, more expressive feel when used with a light hand.
Filling is by standard international cartridge or threaded converter, allowing the pen to use either convenient cartridges or bottled fountain pen ink. The screw cap and comfortably tapered section make the All American well suited to longer writing sessions despite its larger overall dimensions.
Conklin was founded in Toledo, Ohio in 1898 and became known for practical fountain pen innovation during the early twentieth century. The modern All American collection takes its name from a historical Conklin line and reinterprets that heritage with contemporary materials, modern nib units, and an accessible cartridge/converter filling system.
