This limited edition Conklin Endura fountain pen is made with real abalone shell, covered in a clear round resin. It is outfitted with a smooth-writing #6 JoWo black steel nib, and comes with both a standard international converter and cartridge. The cap screws to open/close and screws on to post.
Limited edition of 1898 worldwide.
Each Conklin Endura comes in a gift box with two standard international short ink cartridges (1 blue and 1 black), a standard international converter, and is warrantied for life by Conklin's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
How else to describe this pen’s irridescent hues paired with the dramatic dark tones of the metal trim, but to say “fabulous?” And Truphae’s customer care is fantastic!
This pen is too heavy. To make the abalone exterior they had to use a tube mechanism to hold it. You often see these tube mechanisms when people build their own wooden fountain pens. I like to post my pens and you can post this--but it is too heavy and uncomfortable to hold. It looks good and writes well but I would never have bought it I had held it first. I like resin fountain pens because they are light. I like Conklin fountain pens but not this model.
Fast shipping plus extra crunchy bubble wrap. My pen isn't as saturated as I thought it'd be but that's ok.
Let me just say that the biggest pro yet is the exceptional customer service from Truphae Inc. They have my business from now on.
I bought this pen with an EF nib. It is absolutely gorgeous- looks just like the pictures. It has a nice weight and good balance to it. The cap posts by threading onto the end of the barrel. The only con was the scratchy nib. That’s not always a reflection on the brand. I have some high end pens that also had issues with the EF nib being scratchy to write with. When I exchanged those down to a Fine nib, there were no problems. I contacted customer service, considering exchanging this one for a Fine nib, but I ended up keeping it. They had an idea to help smooth the nib, and I love this pen even more now. It’s just beautiful.
