The Cross ATX Fountain Pen - Sage Green pairs the ATX design with a Sage Green finish. The exact finish gives the familiar Cross design its own visual identity while preserving the proportions and writing format associated with the collection.
Craftsmanship & Design
ATX is Cross's modern, streamlined collection, built around a tapered silhouette and an ergonomic, balanced profile. The design emphasizes contemporary finishes and a substantial feel without the formality of the Townsend line.
This example is distinguished by its Sage Green finish. The color and surface treatment give the familiar ATX proportions a different character while preserving the recognizable clip, trim, and overall Cross design language appropriate to the model.
Collector & Design Context
Cross has produced many finish variations across its major collections, and subtle changes in lacquer, plating, texture, and trim can significantly change the character of an otherwise familiar model. For this listing, the title and technical details are intentionally limited to what is established in the source inventory data rather than assigning an unsupported production year, country of manufacture, nib alloy, or limited-edition status. That approach keeps the listing useful to both writers and collectors without overstating provenance.
Writing Experience
The fountain pen uses a cartridge/converter filling system, giving the writer the choice between convenient ink cartridges and bottled ink through a converter. Its capped format and traditional nib-based writing experience make it the most expressive version of the design while keeping filling and maintenance straightforward.
Brand Heritage
A.T. Cross traces its history to 1846 and has played a long role in the development of American writing instruments. The company introduced the Century mechanical pencil in 1946, the Classic Century ballpoint in 1953, and later expanded into collections such as Townsend, Century II, Solo, and Metropolis as its catalog evolved.
