The Cross Century II Mechanical Pencil in Red Marble pairs a richly patterned lacquer finish with warm gold-tone appointments. Dark marbled markings flow through the red surface, giving this classic writing instrument a distinctive character.
Craftsmanship & Design
Century II takes the familiar styling of the original Classic Century and gives it a fuller profile. Its tapered barrel, conical top, and slender pocket clip preserve the recognizable Cross silhouette, with balanced proportions suited to everyday use.
This example features red marbled lacquer across the upper and lower body, complemented by gold-tone trim at the top, center band, clip, and writing tip. The accompanying photographs show the actual pencil offered.
Collector & Design Context
The Red Marble finish adds visual depth to the Century II's restrained design. It offers an expressive alternative to a plain metal or solid-color finish, whether used at a desk or kept alongside other Cross writing instruments.
Writing Experience
The refillable mechanism uses 0.7mm lead for notes, annotations, and general writing. Replaceable lead keeps the pencil practical for regular use, combining the convenience of a mechanical pencil with the enduring styling of the Century II collection.
Brand Heritage
Cross traces its history to 1846 and has a long association with mechanical pencils and refillable pens. The Century II carries that tradition forward through a fuller interpretation of the company's classic design.
