David Oscarson Henrik Wigström Trophy Collection Fountain Pen – Mossy Black
The David Oscarson Henrik Wigström Trophy Collection – Mossy Black represents the very first design in David Oscarson’s celebrated series of limited-edition writing instruments—an extraordinary tribute to the legacy of Henrik Wigström, the legendary Head Workmaster to Peter Carl Fabergé. Inspired by the famous 1907 Fabergé Imperial “Love Trophies” Egg, this collection reflects the same artistic spirit and technical mastery that defined the golden age of Fabergé craftsmanship.
Each pen in the Trophy Collection embodies the tradition of Old World decorative arts, combining the centuries-old technique of diamond-cut guilloché engraving with multiple layers of translucent hard enamel. Every component begins as solid .925 sterling silver and 18-karat gold, meticulously engraved with intricate guilloché patterns before layers of glass-based enamel are applied by hand and kiln-fired repeatedly to achieve their luminous depth.
What makes the Henrik Wigström Trophy Collection particularly significant is its technical complexity. It was the first Oscarson design to feature two levels of guilloché engraving combined with multiple enamel colors on a single piece, creating exceptional visual depth and dimensional contrast.
The Mossy Black colorway offers a rich, dramatic interpretation of the design. Deep translucent black enamel overlays the engraved guilloché base, revealing subtle texture beneath the surface as light passes through the enamel layers. This darker palette is complemented by opalescent white enamel accents and precious metal detailing, giving the pen a refined and slightly mysterious character that emphasizes the depth of the engraving below.
At the writing end, the pen is fitted with a precision 18K gold nib engineered in Heidelberg, Germany, paired with a plastic feed for consistent ink flow and smooth performance. Oscarson’s unique filling system accommodates cartridge, converter, or eyedropper filling, providing flexibility while maintaining the reliability expected from a luxury writing instrument.
Like all David Oscarson creations, the Henrik Wigström Trophy Collection is produced in extremely limited numbers. Each color variation—including Mossy Black—is limited to just 128 pieces worldwide across fountain pen and rollerball versions, making it both a remarkable writing instrument and a serious collector’s piece.
Elegant, historically inspired, and crafted using techniques rarely seen in modern penmaking, the Henrik Wigström Trophy Collection stands as a testament to the enduring artistry of guilloché and hard enamel—bringing the spirit of Fabergé-era craftsmanship into the world of fine writing.
