Got the green version in my monthly Inkredible Box. Not blown away. Very light weight, so if you like a bit of heft to your pen, this isn't the one. Posting certainly helps! The chrome is not matte finish, but just standard shiny chrome. Three flat sides in the grip area make it easy to line up for writing. Did not like the feel of the threading for the ink cartridge, I felt like I was going to strip the threads when I had to apply some pressure to get the body on after filling with ink. Mine came with the converter. Broad nib is thicker than I like, but writes well. I do like the ability to see the ink level, but haven't gotten low enough to see if you can really tell that it is running low.
I have several Diplomat pens all of which are smooth writing reliable pens. This is a very inexpensive way to enjoy a smooth writing Diplomat. It seems to be a sturdy instrument despite its light weight. It has performed well from the moment I put a cartridge in it, putting down a sufficiently wet line reliably and consistently. That is more than I can say for much more expensive pens I have purchased. While its appearance will not impress its performance will and the first requirement of a fountain pen is that it writes reliably every time you uncap it. The Diplomat Magnum does just that.
I'm so happy to see Truphae is carrying these pens now! I've used them before and really like them. I was thrilled to receive one in my latest Inkredible box! They are very lightweight, but write beautifully. The ink flow is smooth, the cap is a pull-off and posts very well, too. Definitely one of my favorites.
