The Montblanc Bohème Soulmakers for 100 Years 1906 Limited Edition Rollerball Pen brings Montblanc’s centenary treatment to the compact, jewelry-inspired Bohème platform. Black-and-grey marbled resin, sterling silver, onyx, and a floating diamond emblem give the pen considerably more visual depth than a standard-production Bohème while retaining the collection’s distinctive compact proportions.
Craftsmanship & Design
The barrel is finished in a dark mosaic-like resin, while the sterling-silver cap carries a guilloché pattern that incorporates Montblanc’s familiar star motif. An onyx accent appears at the clip, adding another jewelry-like material to the composition. The transparent cap top contains a 43-facet Montblanc-cut diamond, suspended so that it reads as a floating interpretation of the white-star emblem.
The combination of patterned resin, engraved silver, stone, and diamond makes the Bohème version one of the richest material compositions in the Soulmakers family. Despite that complexity, the dark palette keeps the pen refined rather than flashy.
Writing Experience
The rollerball format provides a smooth, liquid-ink writing character without the maintenance requirements of a fountain pen. It accepts Montblanc rollerball refills, making the writing system easy to service while preserving the unusual anniversary body and cap. The compact Bohème proportions also make it notably different in hand from the larger StarWalker and Meisterstück centenary pens.
Collector Significance
The Bohème Soulmakers edition was limited to 1,906 pieces worldwide and produced for Montblanc’s 100th anniversary in 2006. Its mix of sterling silver, onyx, marbled resin, and diamond makes it one of the more overtly jewelry-like entries in the Soulmakers family. This example remains in New Old Stock condition with all original boxes and papers, which is particularly important for a discontinued numbered edition of this age.
