The overall form recalls a spark plug, referencing Elvis Presley's enthusiasm for V8 engines and Cadillacs. The yellow-gold-coated clip takes on a V-shaped profile inspired by automotive design, while the initials EP recall the emblematic sunglasses and personal iconography associated with the singer.
The decorative pattern across the cap and body draws from the gold ring worn during the landmark Aloha from Hawaii concert. That televised performance helped solidify Elvis as a global figure, making the jewelry reference both personal and historically significant.
